It’s rare that I plan a return trip to a country I haven’t even left yet. Traveling and exploring new places around the world is my favorite past time.
The minute I arrived in Virgin Gorda, BVI, the island’s ambiance captured me. The turquoise and cobalt blue waters looked as if they were in a detailed painting. The water was clear and refreshing – I truly could not wait to dive in.
I spent most of my time in the ocean snorkeling with sea turtles. While snorkeling, I saw the most vibrant and colorful coral reefs with an abundance of little fish swimming around! The highlight of my snorkel experience was exploring a sunken ship. I even came across the most beautiful burnt orange starfish, which looked as if a ceramicist created it.
In my short stay, I was able to visit four of the 42 islands by boat. Luckily, it’s going to take some time to visit the other 38 islands, so a return trip is a must!
HOW TO GET THERE
Rosewood Little Dix Bay is located on one of BVI’s crescent shaped islands, fully lined with palm trees and sunshine. It’s one of the prettiest Caribbean islands I’ve ever visited. The resort is a short boat ride from Beef Island Airport in Totola, BVI. Starting in June, American Airlines will be offering a direct flight from Miami to Tortola.
ACCOMODATIONS
The resort offers a multitude of options to tailor your perfect stay. Aside from traditional rooms, the resort offers unforgettable experiences in their treehouses, beach villas and cottages (3-4 bedrooms). There are 80 guest rooms, suites or villas. They were at 75% capacity while I visited. The only reason I asked is because it felt as if we were sharing the resort with just a few others.
